Recap: Vancouver vs. Edmonton

Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Jordan Eberle posted a goal and two assists, as the Edmonton Oilers tallied four times in the first period en route to a 4-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks in preseason action at Rogers Arena.

Martin Marincin added a goal and an assist, while Jesse Joensuu and David Perron each scored once for the Oilers, who saw Devan Dubnyk turn away all but one of the 26 shots he faced.

Brendan Gaunce netted the lone Vancouver goal, while starting netminder Roberto Luongo gave up all four goals on 18 shots in the setback.

Vickers returns to racing at Las Vegas

In December, doctors discovered that his body was rejecting a patch that was surgically placed over a hole in his heart in 2010. The 31-year-old Vickers had corrective surgery that month, forcing him to miss the Feb. 22 season- opening Daytona 500 and last Sunday's race at Atlanta.
