Recap: Boston vs. Detroit

Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Henrik Zetterberg recorded a pair of goals and an assist to lead the Detroit Red Wings to an 8-2 rout of the Boston Bruins in a preseason matchup from TD Garden.

Pavel Datsyuk had a four-point night in the lopsided win, notching a goal and three assists, while Joakim Andersson scored once and assisted on another for Detroit. The Red Wings also received goals from Justin Abdelkader, David McIntyre, Daniel Cleary and Danny DeKeyser.

Jimmy Howard stopped 14-of-15 shots over two periods of action for the Red Wings, with Tom McCollum making six saves on seven chances in relief.

Malcolm Subban was torched in net for Boston, letting up all eight Detroit markers on 28 shots. Four of those goals came in the final period.

Jarome Iginla and Nick Johnson each scored for the Bruins, with Matt Bartkowski assisting on both.
