Recap: Toronto vs. Detroit

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Josh Leivo netted a pair of goals to lift the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 3-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings in preseason action on Saturday.

Leivo opened the scoring in the second period and lit the lamp midway through the third period for the third Toronto goal. John-Michael Liles had a goal and an assist while Joe Colborne had two helpers in the win.

James Reimer turned away 24 of 25 shots between the pipes, only surrendering a late goal by Mitch Callahan at the 16:00 mark of the third period.

Petr Mrazek yielded two goals on 18 shots through two periods before giving way to Jared Coreau, who finished the game in goal for Detroit. Coreau let in a goal on nine shots.

Baltimore Orioles reliever Brian Matusz became the second major league pitcher in three days to be ejected from a game for having a foreign substance on his arm.

Hawks' Korver out for postseason

If the Atlanta Hawks are going to erase a 2-0 deficit in their Eastern Conference Finals series against the Cleveland Cavaliers, they will have to do it without one of the NBA's best shooters.
