Recap: Montreal vs. Calgary

Montreal, QC (SportsNetwork.com) - Rookie Josh Jooris scored twice and six Calgary Flames players had at least two points in a 6-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday.

Markus Granlund, Curtis Glencross, Lance Bouma and Mark Giordano also scored for the Flames, who returned the favor after losing 2-1 in a shootout to the Canadiens last Tuesday in Calgary.

It was Montreal's first loss in five home games this season.

"When things are going well we just have to keep it up," said Flames goaltender Jonas Hiller, who had 18 saves. "Yes, it would have been nice to get a win against them at home, but it's just as good to win on the road."

TJ Brodie had three assists for Calgary and Jiri Hudler and Johnny Gaudreau added a pair of helpers each.

Max Pacioretty and Rene Bourque scored for the Canadiens, who have lost three of their last four (1-2-1). Carey Price gave up five goals on 35 shots.

Montreal committed eight penalties, leading to six Calgary power plays.

"We have to learn to take the lead and score first and often, especially at home," said Canadiens coach Michel Therrien. "Tonight there is no excuse. If you're not ready to compete you'll never win in this league and tonight our team wasn't there.

"There were way too many penalties and it's tough to accept a team that doesn't compete and (we) didn't tonight."

Jooris scored his first goal 4:58 into the game on a rebound off Dennis Wideman's shot from the blue line, and Hudler's shot in the final minute of the first period hit off Granlund's skate to give the Flames a 2-0 lead.

"We put pressure on them and when you play like that, chances are you're going to win," said Hiller.

Glencross made it 3-0 with 2:07 remaining in the second period when he got a piece of Brodie's wrist shot from the point.

Dale Weise hustled into the left corner early in the third period to erase what would have been an icing call and won the puck, leading to Pacioretty's goal from the right circle to get Montreal on the board.

But Jooris scored his third NHL goal 8:11 later after Brodie hit him with a pass behind three defenders on a power play and he beat Price one-on-one.

Calgary pushed its lead to 5-1 at 11:08 after All-Star Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban fell down in front of Giordano, who crossed a pass to Bouma for a one-timer.

The puck went in off Bourque's skate at 13:18 for Montreal's second goal and Giordano scored an empty-netter with 3 1/2 minutes left.
