Recap: San Jose vs. Calgary

San Jose, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jonas Hiller stopped 33 shots to lead the Calgary Flames in a 4-1 win over the San Jose Sharks.

Lance Bouma and David Jones each had a goal and an assist, while Mason Raymond and Jiri Hudler also scored for the Flames, who have won four of their last five.

"Playoff atmosphere again," said Flames defenseman Mark Giordano. "It's been like that for the most part here the last little while."

Brent Burns had the only goal of the game for the Sharks, who have dropped four of their last five. Antti Niemi allowed three goals on 26 shots.

"We weren't good enough, bottom line," said Burns. "The puck movement wasn't there, we couldn't get it in and we gave them too much ice when they had the puck."

Before the game, the Sharks re-acquired goaltender Evgeni Nabokov from the Tampa Bay Lightning. The record holder for most San Jose goaltending marks, he had been waived by the Lightning earlier in the month, and will announce his future hockey plans on Wednesday.

Calgary scored at 14:52 of the first period as Raymond skated down the left wing then cut to the slot, backing the defense up and snapping a wrister into the right corner of the net.

The Flames took a 2-0 lead at 8:10 of the second when a left circle faceoff win saw Giordano send a shot on net from the point and Bouma backhand home the rebound from in front.

San Jose got some life as it scored with just 0.9 seconds showing on the second period clock. A faceoff at the right circle was won and the puck got back to Burns, who blasted it in right before the buzzer.

Calgary, though, scored on the power play at 5:20 of the third to retake a two-goal lead. Dennis Wideman sent a pass from the left point to the low left side for Johnny Gaudreau, who dished it back to the slot where Hudler one- timed it home.

Jones scored into the empty-net with 1:53 to play to seal the victory.
