Recap: Colorado vs. Dallas

Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Jarome Iginla recorded a milestone goal and Semyon Varlamov added 24 saves as Colorado claimed a 4-1 victory over Dallas at Pepsi Center.

Gabriel Landeskog, Alex Tanguay and Dennis Everberg also found the back of the net for the Avalanche, who put an end to a four-game losing streak.

Jason Spezza notched the lone score for the Stars, whose three-game win streak came to a halt. Jhonas Enroth made 26 stops in his Dallas debut.

Iginla put the hosts up by a 3-0 count at 3:20 of the third period, by deflecting in a shot from Brad Stuart, who had collided with teammate Nick Holden at the point.

"Definitely got a good break and was lucky on that goal. We had a good start tonight and now we have to go get a string of wins," Iginla said. "We know where we are in the standings and we know what we have to do. Everyone is ready."

The marker was Iginla's 578th career goal, moving him past Mark Recchi into 19th place on the all-time list.

Though Spezza put the Stars on the board two seconds shy of the midway point, Everberg removed all doubt of a Dallas comeback on a score with 24 seconds to play off a Tanguay dish.

Landeskog opened the scoring at 11:28 of the first period, credited with touching a shot through a screen from the left wing by Nathan MacKinnon, and Tanguay doubled the advantage at 5:28 of the second with an easy tap in from the right side.

"I thought he (Enroth) played well. There was nothing he could do about the first one, and the third one was deflected. You knew this was going to be a tough game," said Stars head coach Lindy Ruff.
