Recap: San Jose vs. Los Angeles

Santa Clara, CA ( - The Los Angeles Kings took their winning ways outdoors as Marian Gaborik notched the game-winning goal in the club's 2-1 win over the San Jose Sharks in the 2015 NHL Stadium Series game at Levi's Stadium on Saturday.

Kyle Clifford scored for the first time in 15 games and Jonathan Quick made 31 saves in his 200th career victory for the Kings, who won their seventh straight game in front of the 70,205 fans at the home of the NFL's San Francisco 49ers.

Brent Burns supplied the lone Sharks goal and Antti Niemi stopped 27 shots in the loss.

Los Angeles' outdoor win was an important one as it tied the Pacific Division rival Sharks for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference with 68 points.

Gaborik's deciding marker was a hard-earned effort as he came off the bench, stripped Burns of the puck and slapped a shot through the pads of Niemi from the top of the left circle for a 2-1 Kings lead 4:04 into the final stanza.

The Sharks pulled Niemi with over a minute to play and threatened late, but were unable to force an extra session.

Clifford opened the scoring with a deft deflection of Jake Muzzin's shot in front 2:46 into the game.

Burns tied the score after taking the puck off an offensive face-off win and wristing a quick shot from along the right-wing boards with 1:04 left in the opening stanza.

Neither team lit the lamp in the second, but Sharks forward Logan Couture came the closest, as he rang a shot off the post with under a minute to play.
