Anaheim, CA ( - Jakob Silfverberg scored the winning goal in the shootout to lead the Anaheim Ducks in a 4-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Monday.

Andrew Cogliano, Emerson Etem and Francois Beauchemin scored in a span of 3:40 late in regulation for the Ducks, who have won three straight. John Gibson turned aside 35 shots for the win.

"In the third period when you?re getting outplayed, you get that goal and you get some emotion in the game. We got that second one and third one, and I think we had a bad change on their tying goal. We got lucky and won it," Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said.

Pavel Datsyuk scored twice and Riley Sheahan had the other goal for the Red Wings, who are 2-0-1 on a six-game road trip. Howard finished with 22 saves.

"I thought we controlled the game. The puck found a way in our net a couple times. I didn't like it but I thought our team played good and played hard. Our kids were good," Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said.

The game stayed scoreless until the second period when Detroit went on top at 3:54 as Datsyuk picked off the puck along the left boards and shot it home from the circle.

It was Datsyuk again three minutes later, this time on the power play as Justin Abdelkader sent a pass from the top of the left circle to the low left side where Datsyuk snapped it in for hi 21st of the year.

Anaheim rallied with three straight goals in the third to take the lead.

The first goal came at 9:17 as Hampus Lindholm threw a shot on net that Howard bobbled, but Cogliano backhanded home the rebound as it lay flat on the ice for his 10th of the season.

Just 2:10 later, it was a tie game as Clayton Stoner sent a shot on net from the left point that Howard stopped but he was unable to control the rebound and Etem soft-touched it in.

The Ducks then took their first lead of the game 90 seconds later as Ryan Getzlaf charged the net from the left side before dishing a backhand pass to the right circle for Beauchemin, who wristed it home for his seventh of the season.

Detroit, though, tied the game with 3:51 to play after Gustav Nyquist snapped a pass from the left wing to the right where Sheahan one-timed it in.
