Recap: Winnipeg vs. Philadelphia

Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) - Jakub Voracek's goal 10 seconds into overtime finished off a furious comeback as the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Winnipeg Jets, 4-3, on Sunday.

Claude Giroux pressured Dustin Byfuglien on the forecheck and Voracek was there to take the loose puck and emerge from behind the net to beat Ondrej Pavelec with a quick wrister for the win.

Voracek continued his frenetic scoring pace with two goals and Vincent Lecavalier's second goal of the night tied the game late in regulation for the Flyers, who were coming off a 7-4 win over Toronto on Saturday.

Rob Zepp stopped 25-of-28 shots in his NHL debut. The 33-year-old became the oldest NHL netminder to win his first career start since 41-year-old Hugh Lehman in 1926.

"I thought in the third we really dug in and started to compete," Flyers head coach Craig Berube said. "I thought (Zepp) really handled himself well."

Matt Halischuk, Mathieu Perreault and Byfuglien all lit the lamp for the Jets, who had their two-game winning streak come to an end. Pavelec made 19 stops in defeat.

"We stopped making simple plays. It's not that we couldn't make simple plays, we stopped trying to make simple plays," Jets coach Paul Maurice said.

The Flyers began their comeback just over six minutes into the final stanza. Streit faked a shot, skated across the slot and had his wrister deflected by Lecavalier past Pavelec.

Winnipeg won a defensive zone faceoff, but Chris VandeVelde charged across the circle and dove to send a pass to Lecavalier, who cooly gathered the puck and sent a shot through the legs of Pavelec to tie the game with 3:14 to play and send the game into overtime.

Philadelphia wasted no time getting on the board. Racing into the offensive zone on a 2-on-1, Giroux sent a saucer pass to Voracek, who wristed a shot past Pavelec just 46 seconds into the contest.

Winnipeg responded with two goals in a span of 55 seconds. Halischuk took a drop pass from Evander Kane and fired a shot from the high slot that beat Zepp for a tied game 6:38 into the first.

Byfuglien moved in from the right boards, made a power move towards the crease and wristed the puck top shelf over a stationary Zepp for a 2-1 lead. at 7:33.

The Jets added to their lead with 8:40 left in the middle stanza. The rebound of Mark Scheifele's shot squirted to the right side of the net, where Perreault slipped the puck past the goal line for a 3-1 lead.

Scheifele had the chance to make it a three-goal game with 25 seconds to play, but Zepp extended his right leg to deny the Winnipeg forward and keep the Flyers in the game.

Philadelphia nearly got within a goal as VandeVelde's one-timer deflected off Pavelec's glove before clanging off the crossbar and the post less than two minutes into the third.
