Recap: Edmonton vs. Toronto

Edmonton, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - Jordan Eberle had a goal and two assists in leading the Edmonton Oilers to a 4-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday night.

The Oilers ended a six-game losing streak to the Leafs and a seven-game skid overall (0-5-2) behind an early wave of goals. They scored four times in the first 11 minutes of the game and Benoit Pouliot had two of them.

Ben Scrivens made 28 saves for Edmonton.

Jonathan Bernier was pulled after allowing three goals on four shots. James Reimer finished with 27 saves in relief for Toronto, which went winless on a three-game trip through western Canada.

"This is probably an all-time low in hockey right now. It's a tough go," a frustrated Phil Kessel said.

Pouliot hammered a drop pass from Eberle past Bernier to open the scoring 53 seconds into the game. The shot appeared to deflect off the stick of Toronto defenseman Eric Brewer.

Eberle made it 2-0 on a power play at the 7:16 mark of the first. He took a feed from Justin Schultz, moved to the middle of the ice and snapped a shot over Bernier's glove.

Pouliot collected a pass from Nail Yakupov on a rush and fired a slap shot past Bernier 52 seconds later to extend the lead to 3-0.

Anton Lander scored on another power play to put the Oilers up 4-0 at 10:59. Toronto defenseman Andrew MacWilliam went down to block a pass, but Eberle was able to slide the puck through the crease to Lander, who beat Reimer on the glove side.

James van Riemsdyk deflected a one-timer by Dion Phaneuf past Scrivens for a power-play goal with 6:33 left in the first.

Scrivens made 13 saves in the second period and stopped eight shots in the third.

"We kind of got a little sloppy and a little undisciplined. They got a chance to come back, but (Scrivens) was there to shut the door," Eberle said.

Edmonton's Matt Fraser had to be helped off the ice with 9:02 left in the game after he was hit in the head by an elbow from Toronto forward Nazem Kadri. Kadri received a two-minute penalty for an illegal check to the head.

Game Notes

The Oilers posted their first win over the Maple Leafs since Dec. 2, 2010 ... Eberle has four goals and seven assists during a five-game point streak.
