Recap: Nashville vs. St. Louis

Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Shea Weber scored twice, including the deciding goal midway through the third period, as Nashville skated away with a 3-2 win over St. Louis at Bridgestone Arena.

Gabriel Bourque added a goal and one assist for the Predators, who retained their perfect record (12-0-0) following a loss. Pekka Rinne came up with 26 stops for the hosts.

"The guys don't get riled too much," Weber said. "We came back right away."

Brian Elliott returned from injured reserve and halted a season-high 44 shots for the Blues, losers in five of their last six. Chris Butler and T.J. Oshie netted second-period markers in defeat.

"The three goals they got were on breakdowns," Blues forward David Backes said. "They didn't hesitate to put them in the back of our net."

Weber put his club on top just after the nine-minute mark of the final period, when he ripped a shot home from the right circle while St. Louis was on the power play.

Elliott was sent to the bench for an extra skater with 1:40 left in regulation, but his team couldn't prolong the contest.

Weber rippled the net inside of two minutes remaining in the first period, one-timing an Olli Jokinen pass into the top corner.

Butler evened things just 50 seconds after the initial puck drop in the second when his shot off a left-circle faceoff win changed direction past Rinne. Then Oshie put the Blues ahead at 14:39 off a pretty give-and-go with Backes.

Bourque's marker only 1:27 later from a right-circle faceoff win sent the hosts into a 2-2 tie after 40 minutes.

Game Notes

Weber posted his first multi-goal effort since March 27 against Buffalo ... Elliott's previous best was 36 saves, in a 4-3 win over the Rangers on Nov. 3 ... Jokinen picked up two assists ... Backes assisted on both Blues tallies.
