Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Boston Bruins announced on Saturday that defenseman Dennis Seidenberg will miss the remainder of the season with tears of his medial collateral and anterior cruciate ligaments in his right knee.

Seidenberg suffered what seemed to be an innocuous leg injury during his club's 5-0 home win over Ottawa on Friday night, but left the game and did not return.

He remained in Boston while the rest of the team headed to Canada's capital for the completion of that home-and-home set with the Senators. Upon further evaluation, the knee injuries were revealed, and estimated recovery time is 6-to-8 months.

Seidenberg had been rewarded with a four-year contract extension worth $16 million for the duration just after the start of the regular season.

He finishes his 11th NHL season with one goal and 10 points in 34 games.

In other roster moves Saturday, the Bruins recalled forward Nick Johnson, defensemen David Warsofsky and Zach Trotman from Providence (AHL) on an emergency basis, and assigned goaltender Niklas Svedberg to Providence.
