Washington, DC (Sports Network) - The Washington Capitals are on the verge of bringing back forward Eric Fehr.

The Washington Times reported on Saturday that the deal is for $600,000 for the upcoming season, and will become official once Fehr passes a physical and the NHLPA ratifies the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The 27-year-old participated in just 35 games last season for Winnipeg, tallying two goals and one assist. Fehr also recorded 13 goals and 25 points in 21 games in Finland during the lockout.

A first-round pick of Washington in 2003, Fehr spent the first six seasons of his career with the Capitals, posting career highs in goals (21), assists (18), points (39) and games played (69) during the 2009-10 season.

Over 265 NHL games for the Capitals and Jets, the Manitoba native has totaled 48 goals and 96 points.
