Newark, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Ryane Clowe will take to the ice on Friday against the Columbus Blue Jackets, after missing the last 32 games.
Signed to a five-year contract at the outset of free agency in July, Clowe's tenure was interrupted six games in, on Oct. 13, when he suffered a concussion in a game at Winnipeg. The left winger only posted one assist and was a minus-5 until the injury.
"Yeah. I came in, saw the name on the board, so I'm pretty excited to get back," Clowe said after a Friday practice session. "It'll be interesting to see how I feel tonight. We'll take a look (at how it goes) in the first period, see if I can get my legs under me. I won't be looking to do anything crazy out there."
Clowe is coming off a rough 2012-13 campaign split between the Sharks and Rangers, where he registered just three goals and 16 assists in 40 appearances.
