Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Chicago forward Marian Hossa left early in the third period of Tuesday's game against Vancouver with a possible head injury.

Hossa left the game after receiving a forearm to the back of the head by Vancouver's Jannik Hansen early in the period. Hossa laid on the ice for several minutes before eventually getting up and skating off the ice under his won power.

Hansen received a roughing minor on the play.

Last spring, Hossa suffered a major concussion after getting hit by Phoenix forward Raffi Torres during a first-round playoff matchup. Torres received a 25-game suspension, which was reduced to 21 games, while Hossa wasn't cleared for action until early December.

"I saw him after the game and he seemed ok, but we'll know more tomorrow," said Chicago head coach Joel Quennville. "It's a major concern, obviously and we just have to hope that he's ok."

On the season, Hossa has eight goals and six assists in 16 games.

He scored two goals in Tuesday's game which saw Chicago take a 4-3 win in the shootout. The win saw Chicago tie the mark set by the 2006-07 Anaheim Ducks for consecutive games with recording at least one point to start the season at 16.
