Raleigh, NC ( - The Carolina Hurricanes have activated goaltender Cam Ward from injured reserve.

Ward hasn't played since Oct. 24 against Minnesota when he suffered a lower- body injury 4:07 into the first period. He is eligible to play Monday against the Boston Bruins. Ward missed 10 games with the injury.

The nine-year veteran was 2-2-3 with a 2.81 GAA in eight games (seven starts) before being sidelined.

Goalie Mike Murphy was reassigned to Charlotte (AHL) to make room for Ward. Murphy served as backup for the 10 games Ward missed, but saw no ice time.
