New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin was recognized as the NHL's top performer for the week ending Nov. 24.
Malkin led all players with eight points, totaling seven assists and one goal. He helped the Penguins to win three of four games to re-gain the top spot in the Metropolitan Division.
Malkin snapped a 15-game goal drought with one goal and an assist in the Penguins' 4-3 victory over the New York Islanders on Nov. 22. He has managed to record at least one point in 10 of his last 11 games and currently ranks tied for first in the league with 22 assists in 24 games this season.
Montreal Canadiens left wing Max Pacioretty earned the Second Star. He led all skaters with five goals, two of which were game winners, while helping the Canadiens win all three of their games this past week. He started the week by recording a natural hat trick in a 6-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Nov. 19.
Edmonton Oilers goaltender Devan Dubnyk picked up the Third Star after posting a 2-0-0 record with a 0.50 goals-against average,.974 save percentage and one shutout. He helped the team extend its season-long winning streak to three games.
