Woods will not be on hand this week to defend his title due to an elbow injury. U.S. Open champion Justin Rose is also out, citing fatigue.

Masters champion Adam Scott, Jason Day and Hunter Mahan highlight the field.

The Golf Channel will have full coverage the first two days and early coverage Saturday and Sunday before handing off to CBS for the weekend's afternoon rounds.

Next week, the PGA Tour heads to West Virginia for the Greenbrier Classic, where Ted Potter Jr. birdied the third playoff hole last year to defeat Troy Kelly.

THE IRISH OPEN, Carton House GC, Maynooth, Co., Kildare, Ireland - The European Tour is in the Emerald Isle this week for the Irish Open.

Last year, Jamie Donaldson shot a final-round 6-under 66 to wrap up his first title on the European Tour. The Welshman finished at 18-under-par 270, four strokes clear of Anthony Wall, Rafa Cabrera-Bello and Fabrizio Zanotti.

A contingent of Ireland's finest highlight the field, including world No. 2 Rory McIlroy, Darren Clarke, Padraig Harrington and Graeme McDowell -- all major champions.

Golf Channel will have coverage of all four rounds.

Next week, the European Tour is in Paris for the Alstom Open de France, where Germany's Marcel Siem ended an eight-year victory drought last year.

U.S. WOMEN'S OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP, Sebonack Golf Club, Southampton, New York - The third major of the LPGA Tour season, the U.S. Women's Open Championship, gets underway this week.

Last year, Na Yeon Choi shot a 1-over 73 on the final day and secured her first major title. She finished at 7-under-par 281, four strokes in front of Amy Yang.

The clear-cut favorite this week is Inbee Park, who has won the last two LPGA Tour events in a playoff. The world No. 1 already has five victories on the season, including triumphs in both majors, the Kraft Nabisco Championship and the LPGA Championship.

ESPN2 has coverage of the first two rounds before handing off to NBC for the weekend.

The LPGA Tour is off next week before heading to Canada for the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic, which Brittany Lang won last year.

SENIOR PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP, Fox Chapel Golf Club, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - The Champions Tour heads to Fox Chapel Golf Club this week for its third major of the season, the Senior Players Championship.

Last year, Joe Daley began the tournament with no status on the Champions Tour and ended it a major champion. Daley finished at 14-under 266 and won by two strokes over Tom Lehman.

World Golf Hall of Fame member Colin Montgomerie will make his Champions Tour debut this week after turning 50 years old on June 23.

Golf Channel will have coverage of all four rounds.

The Champions Tour is off next week before its fourth major of the season, the U.S. Senior Open Championship, gets underway from Omaha, Neb. Roger Chapman captured that title a year ago.

UNITED LEASING CHAMPIONSHIP, Victoria National Golf Club, Evansville, Indiana - The Tour hits Victoria National Golf Club this week for the United Leasing Championship.
