Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Michael Thompson captured his first PGA Tour win at the Honda Classic on Sunday and vaulted into the top 50 in this week's world golf rankings as a result.

The victory moved the 27-year-old American from 114th to 45th, qualifying him for this week's World Golf Championships - Cadillac Championship.

There was minor movement inside the top 10 this week, as Justin Rose and Louis Oosthuizen swapped places to sit in fifth and sixth, respectively.

The top four players remained the same with Rory McIlroy maintaining his No. 1 ranking followed by Tiger Woods, Luke Donald and Brandt Snedeker.

McIlroy withdrew during the second round of the Honda Classic after carding a pair of bogeys, a double bogey and a triple bogey in his first eight holes, later citing a sore wisdom tooth as the cause.

Adam Scott, Matt Kuchar, Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter all stayed put to fill out to top 10.

Bubba Watson, Phil Mickelson, Steve Stricker and Charl Schwartzel all held firm at 11th through 14th, while Keegan Bradley moved up three spots to No. 15 after tying for fourth place at the Honda Classic.

Bradley's advancement caused Jason Dufner, Webb Simpson and Sergio Garcia to each drop a spot to 16th through 18th, while Graeme McDowell and Dustin Johnson remained unchanged, rounding out the top 20.

Geoff Ogilvie also moved into the top 50 after finishing two strokes behind Thompson, jumping 32 spots to No. 47, while Luke Guthrie finished four strokes off the pace to advance 42 positions to 64th.
