Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Tiger Woods won his 17th World Golf Championship title on Sunday and that helped him narrow the gap between he and No. 1 Rory McIlroy in this week's world golf rankings.

Woods, who trailed by 2.70 average points last week, closed within 0.99 average points of McIlroy with his victory Sunday at Doral.

Following McIlroy and Woods, the next five were unchanged with No. 3 Luke Donald followed by Brandt Snedeker, Justin Rose, Louis Oosthuizen and Adam Scott.

Steve Stricker took second behind Woods and improved five spots to No. 8. Matt Kuchar slipped one to ninth, while Phil Mickelson improved a pair to 10th.

Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter and Bubba Watson all dropped two to 11th through 13th respectively. Keegan Bradley inched up one to 14 and Graeme McDowell climbed four to 15th.

Charl Schwartzel dipped two to 16th and Sergio Garcia improved a notch to No. 17, while Jason Dufner and Webb Simpson both slid a pair to 18th and 19th. Peter Hanson and Dustin Johnson exchanged positions from last week, meaning Hanson rounded out the top 20 as Johnson dipped to 21st.

Scott Brown won the opposite PGA Tour event in Puerto Rico and soared 131 places to No. 160 in the new rankings.
