New York, NY (Sports Network) - A total of 14 players were selected by various clubs in Stage 2 of the MLS Re-Entry Draft on Friday.

Toronto FC opened the selection process with the first overall pick, taking defender Danny Califf.

The San Jose Earthquakes, reigning Supporters' Shield winners, were the busiest among the MLS clubs, making three defensive selections. They picked up Dan Gargan, Ty Harden and Bryan Jordan.

Fresh off of their MLS Cup triumph, the Los Angeles Galaxy jumped up to the No. 2 position following a trade with Chivas USA and used the pick to select midfielder Colin Clark. The Galaxy eventually selected goalkeeper Will Hesmer in the second round.

The Philadelphia Union made a splash by taking striker Conor Casey with the fifth overall pick, one spot behind the New England Revolution, who took striker Chad Barrett with the fourth pick. The Revs also selected defender Hunter Freeman in the second round.

Also making moves in the draft on Friday, the Colorado Rapids selected midfielder Eric Avila, FC Dallas selected defender Stephen Keel, Vancouver Whitecaps FC selected striker Paulo Jr., Real Salt Lake selected midfielder Lovel Palmer and D.C. United selected midfielder John Thorrington.

Players that went unselected in Stage 2 of the Re-Entry Draft are now available to all teams on a first-come, first-serve basis.
