Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Lamar Neagle is headed back to Seattle Sounders FC after the club acquired the midfielder from the Montreal Impact on Sunday in exchange for an international roster spot through the end of the 2014 season.

Neagle joined the Sounders in June 2009 before he spent the 2010 campaign in USL-2 with the Charleston Battery.

The 25-year-old had a brief stint in Finland before he came back to Seattle in 2011 as a free agent. He went on to net five goals and chip in two assists in 23 games during the 2011 season before moving to Montreal last term in a trade along with Mike Fucito that allowed Seattle to acquire forward Eddie Johnson.

"We are very excited about bringing Lamar back to Seattle," said sporting director Chris Henderson. "He is an attacking midfielder who plays smart and adds versatility to our club. Lamar scored a few key goals for us in the past while being a very consistent player. He is a great teammate and positive presence in the locker room."

Neagle appeared in 23 games for the Impact in 2012, scoring two goals.
