New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Donovan Ricketts was named the 2013 Major League Soccer Goalkeeper of the Year on Wednesday after an outstanding campaign for the Portland Timbers.

The Jamaica international led MLS with 14 shutouts and he ranked among the league leaders in wins (13), goals-against average (0.97) and save percentage (73 percent).

Ricketts also set career highs in saves (92) and minutes played (2,880) in his first season with the Timbers following a move from Montreal.

The 36-year-old is now a two-time winner of the award after also claiming the honor in 2010 as a member of the Los Angeles Galaxy, making him the fourth player to accomplish this along with Joe Cannon (2002, 2004), Pat Onstad (2003, 2005) and Zach Thornton (1998, 2009).

Real Salt Lake netminder Nick Rimando finished second in the voting with third place going to Sporting Kansas City's Jimmy Nielsen.
