Jacksonville, FL (Sports Network) - Christen Press is sure to remember her first cap for the United States national team.

The 24-year-old scored twice on her debut as the U.S. earned a 4-1 victory over Scotland in a friendly match at EverBank Field on Saturday, its first contest of 2013.

It took Press just 13 minutes to open the scoring as she collected a half- clearance at the edge of the penalty area and fired a shot into the back of the net.

Press doubled the advantage and completed her brace in the 32nd minute, getting on the end of a cross from Tobin Heath and heading the delivery home at the back post.

Shannon Boxx made it 3-0 for the U.S. when she buried a half-volley into the upper corner from 25 yards out, but that wonderstrike was canceled out a minute later by Kim Little's shot from 18 yards out.

The Americans continued to dictate play and eventually added a fourth goal in the dying moments as Sydney Leroux latched on to a long ball from Carli Lloyd, rounded the goalkeeper and slipped a shot into the empty net.

The U.S. will return to action in another friendly match against Scotland on Wednesday before Algarve Cup play begins on March 6 against Iceland.
