Harrison, NJ (Sports Network) - Red Bull New York announced Tuesday that the club has signed goalkeeper Santiago Castano and striker Armando Moreno from the Red Bulls Academy.

The duo will sign with New York via the Major League Soccer Homegrown Player rule, becoming the club's sixth and seventh academy products to join the first team.

"Both of these players have trained with the first team during the past year and they impressed our technical staff," said Red Bulls Sporting Director Andy Roxburgh. "It is a priority for our club to bring young players from our academy to the first team and we want to congratulate Santiago and Armando for taking this step."

Castano, 17, has been with the Red Bulls Academy since September of 2008, featuring for the club's Under-14, 15, 16 and 18 teams. He was a member of the Under-17 U.S. National Team Residency program in 2010 and has also been called into the Under-14, Under-15 and Under-18 U.S. youth squads.

Moreno, 17, joined Red Bulls Academy in November of 2009 and has played for the Red Bulls Under-15, 16 and 18 squads. The striker notched 33 goals and 22 assists to lead the Under-16 team to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy championship in the 2011-12 season.

The duo will be added to the roster pending passing a team physical.
