Harrison, NJ (Sports Network) - Red Bull New York announced Monday that the club has acquired striker Fabian Espindola and defender Jamison Olave from Real Salt Lake in exchange for allocation money.

"Fabian and Jamison are players who have excelled in Major League Soccer and provide an immediate boost to our squad," said Red Bulls Sporting Director Andy Roxburgh. "Fabian is a pacy, technical forward who will be a strong complement to the players currently on our roster, while Jamison is a fast, dominant centerback who has shown that he is one of the best at his position in MLS. We are thrilled to bring them to New York as we prepare for the 2013 season."

Espindola concluded his sixth season with RSL, scoring nine goals and adding seven assists in 30 games in 2012. In 125 appearances for the club, the 27- year-old Argentine racked up 35 goals and 17 assists.

Olave, 31, is a two-time MLS Best XI selection and All-Star (2010 and 2011) and was named MLS Defender of the Year in 2010. He made 120 appearances with the Claret and Cobalt, recording 10 goals and two assists.

Both players were integral parts of Real Salt Lake's MLS Cup-winning side in 2009.
