Santa Clara, CA (Sports Network) - The San Jose Earthquakes announced late Wednesday that the club has acquired striker Mike Fucito from the Portland Timbers in exchange for a second-round pick in the MLS SuperDraft.

Fucito joined the Timbers via a trade with the Montreal Impact on April 20, 2012, going on to feature in 12 MLS Regular season games for Portland. The 26- year-old has totaled 36 regular season appearances during his time with Portland, Montreal and Seattle Sounders FC, where his MLS career began in 2009.

The Earthquakes have the right of first refusal to Fucito and may negotiate a contract.
