San Jose, CA (Sports Network) - The San Jose Earthquakes acquired Sporting Kansas City's natural second-round pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft (No. 33 overall) in exchange for defender Ike Opara, it was announced on Wednesday.

Opara was selected with the third overall pick in the 2010 SuperDraft by San Jose, but had his first two seasons with the club cut short because of foot surgery.

However, the 23-year-old enjoyed his best campaign last season when he appeared in a career-high 16 games for the 'Quakes, including seven starts.
