Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Toronto FC announced Friday that it has signed Welsh international Robert Earnshaw. The striker will be added to the club's roster upon the receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

Earnshaw has spent the lion share of his career at Cardiff City where he emerged from the club's youth system. He made his first professional appearance in 1998 and eventually departed the club in 2004 to join West Bromwich. Earnshaw enjoyed stints Norwich City, Derby and Nottingham Forest before returning to Cardiff in 2011.

The 31-year-old has been capped by the Welsh national team 59 times since making his debut in 2002 and has scored 16 goals for his country over that stretch.

"Robbie is an experienced player who has been a consistent goal scorer for club and country," said Toronto FC President and General Manager Kevin Payne. "With his pace and craftiness we expect him to create challenges for opposing defenses. We're thrilled to have him join our team."

Toronto also announced that the club has signed forwards Ashton Bennett and Taylor Morgan and midfielders Jonathan Osorio and Darel Russell. As per team and league policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.
