Brewers acquire Badenhop from Tampa Bay

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired reliever Burke Badenhop from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for minor league outfielder Raul Mondesi Jr.

Badenhop went 3-2 with a career-best 3.03 ERA in a career-high 66 appearances for the Rays in 2012. Tampa Bay acquired him from the Miami Marlins on Dec. 12, 2011.

In 217 career games (10 starts) with the Marlins and Rays, Badenhop is 16-17 with a 4.08 ERA.

Mondesi, the son of former major league outfielder Raul Mondesi, hit .231 with five home runs and 32 RBI in 68 games with the rookie Helena club of the Pioneer League last season.
