Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Jordan Wolf scored four goals with two assists and Josh Dionne scored three times to help Duke down Syracuse, 16-10, to capture the NCAA's men's lacrosse title Monday at Lincoln Financial Field.

Seventh-seeded Duke (16-5) earned its second national title, adding to its triumph in 2010. The Blue Devils, who outlasted Cornell by a 16-14 score in the semifinals on Saturday, fell behind 5-0 before outscoring the Orange 11-4 in the second half to take control.

Top-seeded Syracuse (16-4), which was searching for its 12th national title in its 17th national championship game appearance, ends the season one win short of a new program record. Dylan Donahue scored three times and JoJo Marasco added two goals for the Orange in defeat.

In Saturday's second semifinal, Syracuse scored two goals in 39 seconds in the final minute of the fourth quarter to stun fourth-seeded Denver, 9-8.

Syracuse came out firing and dominated the first quarter, holding a 4-0 advantage after limiting the Blue Devils to just four shots on goal. All four Orange scores came from different players, with attackman Billy Ward opening up the scoring just under five minutes in.

Syracuse expanded its lead to 5-0 less than one minute into the second quarter, but Duke fought back and finally got on the board via Wolf's tally with 12:54 to play in the frame.

The Blue Devils utilized the spark and closed the half on a 5-1 run and trailed by just one goal at the break.

The Blue Devils kept their momentum moving into the second half and outscored the Orange 5-1 in the third quarter.

Donahue's goal with 4 1/2 minutes left gave Syracuse a 7-6 lead and its first goal in 22-plus minutes, but Duke closed out the stanza with four straight goals to head into the fourth up 10-7.

Duke netted the first three goals in the fourth to make it 13-7, though Marasco added two quick scores to cut the Orange deficit to 13-9 with 7 1/2 minutes remaining.

Wolf returned the favor, finding the net on consecutive tries to help secure the title.
