Dallas, TX ( - Los Angeles Clippers All-Star point guard Chris Paul could miss up to six weeks with a Grade 3 AC Joint separation in his right shoulder.

Paul landed awkwardly on his right shoulder after tripping over Mavericks guard Monta Ellis on Jan. 3, stayed on the ground for a moment and immediately exited for the locker room upon being helped to his feet.

An MRI on Sunday revealed the injury and he was re-evaluated by team doctors, who determined that Paul could miss more time than originally anticipated.

Over 34 games this season, Paul was averaging 19.6 points and 11.2 assists per game.
