New York, NY (Sports Network) - Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has been suspended two games without pay for his fight with Brooklyn Nets forward Kris Humphries during Wednesday's game between the two Atlantic Division rivals.

The incident occurred during the first half of Brooklyn's 95-83 victory at TD Garden, which began when Humphries was whistled for a hard foul on the Celtics' Kevin Garnett. Humphries also pushed Garnett, which prompted Rondo to charge at Humphries and incite a fracas that included mostly pushing and shoving between the players involved.

Rondo was ejected for his actions, which in turn ended his streak of consecutive games with double-digit assists at 37. Garnett was assessed a technical foul along with Humphries and Nets forward Gerald Wallace, both of whom were tossed from the game as well.

Wallace was handed a $35,000 fine for escalating the altercation, with Garnett receiving a $25,000 penalty for his involvement. Humphries was not punished by the league for the incident.

Rondo will sit out Friday's home game against Portland and Saturday's road test at Milwaukee. He will be eligible to return when the Celtics host Minnesota on Wednesday.
