Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - The Kansas City Royals and second baseman Chris Getz have agreed to terms on a one-year contract for the 2013 season, the club announced on Friday.

Terms of the pact were not officially disclosed, though the Kansas City Star reported that Getz will receive a $1.05 million salary and can earn an additional $150,000 in performance bonuses.

Getz made $967,500 during an injury-plagued 2012 season with the Royals in which he batted a career-best .275, but made three trips to the disabled list because of bruised ribs, a lower leg strain and a fractured thumb that ended his year in mid-August. The 29-year-old was limited to just 64 games due to the injuries.

Acquired in a trade with the Chicago White Sox prior to the 2010 season, Getz started 97 times at second base for the Royals in 2011 and hit .255 with 26 RBI and 25 steals. He is a lifetime .257 hitter with 71 career stolen bases over five major league campaign with the Royals and White Sox.

Getz's deal leaves the Royals with only one arbitration-eligible player still unsigned, starting pitcher Luke Hochevar.
