Would you call federal funding to research the olive fruit fly government pork?  What about $1,055,000 to replace the Chickamauga Lock?  They both made the cut in the latest "pig book," a catalog of Congressional pork-barrel projects.

Parents tired of requests for school fundraisers may soon get a break.  Hamilton County and other school districts across Tennessee could soon be told by the state to trim the fat, in an effort to get more money into the classroom.

Hamilton County plans to build a corporate training center at Enterprise South.  The county will use the facility as a recruiting tool for new industry, and help existing businesses improve the skills of their employees.

The Republican candidate for Hamilton County Sheriff hit the campaign trail today.  Jim Hammond says he'll take the next 4 months to talk with the public about its expectations for the county's top law enforcement officer.
