Life Care Center of East Ridge offers Revival Tuesdays during August
EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (Aug. 8, 2013) – Each week throughout August, Life Care Center of East Ridge is offering Revival Tuesdays starting at 6 p.m., with local pastors speaking.
The community is invited to join facility residents for a time of prayer, singing and preaching.
“The residents started talking about the lack of attendance at the church services and Bible studies we offer,” explained Christian McDonald, activity director. “They wanted to do something to shake things up and encourage more people to attend.”
Aug. 6 kicked off the first Revival Tuesday with a group from Brainerd Baptist Church, which also provides weekly services on Thursday mornings. Pastor Steve Rowland spoke.
“The preacher preached a great sermon,” said resident Marion Young. “The music was wonderful, and we had a great turnout."
Charlene Lackey, a member at Brainerd Baptist, also attended the revival service.
“Some of the residents are unable to go to the services on Thursday morning because of doctor’s appointments or therapy,” said Lackey. “We wanted to share Christ’s love with all the precious people. If one person was touched or blessed, our efforts were worth it.”
Kenny Boatman from Victory Baptist Church in Rossville, Ga., is scheduled to preach on Aug. 13, and Josh Hill from Bible Baptist Church will speak on Aug. 20.
Light refreshments are served at the meetings.
