Who do you blame the most for the current rash of youth violence? (see our special report at 11:00)
A WISE OLD MAN MY GRAMMER
A WISE OLD MAN MY GRAMMER SCHOOL PRINCIPAL PERCY GRANT SUMED IT UP. WE TOOK THE ONLY BOOK THAT TAUGHT RIGHT FROM WRONG OUT OF SCHOOLS AND WE TOOK AWAY THE PADDLES .WE AS A SOCITY WILL PAY DOWN THE ROAD. WELL WE ARE NOW DOWN THE ROAD .NOW WHAT?
Youth violence
There are many places to lay blame. Yes as parents we need to enforce positive behavior. There is only so much we can do. The kids need something to do. For example, here in Murray Co. the kids have nothing to do. I mean nothing. Sit home and watch TV or play video games. There are no safe places they can hang out with a positive environment. There is also the money crisis. If you have no money or little money the kids seem to turn to other sources to get the things they want or need. The government certainly hasn't help there allowing all the companies to ship out to other countries and take jobs from Americans for cheaper labor. Then there are video games. Games that show that violence is cool and fun. Stealing cars and running from the law. Killing and beating opponents. We really need to get things back in perspective and keep it simple. What ever happened to kids playing hide and seek and playing baseball or other sport??? Is this our future????????
IDIOTS
You are a prime example of someone that always sees something/someone else as the problem. YOU are the problem!!! When was the last time you took time to set and example for these ingrates that only want to break the law.
IDIOTS????
Some people don't have children because they don't want the responsibility or realise they aren't capable of raising children! So why is anyone else responsible for all these "parents" who don't give a crap? You're the idiot....What kind of example are you setting with this lame post? I have 2 kids (teens) who aren't running the streets or causing mayhem and havoc. That's MY responsibility not yours or anyone elses........YOU are a prime example of the problem....People who spread their legs/seed and expect something/someone else to fix the 'problem'!!!
Blame America
I agree with stopping illegal immigrants from crowding our communities and schools. But fixing the border isn't going to stop it.If it wasn't so easy for them to get jobs, housing, and government assisting they wouldn't want to be here. But instead there are some that think they need them, such as employers who would rather pay a smaller salary, buisness owners who are desperate for any sale, and the government who believes they boost the economy.Well is it working for you? Unless you live in that mansion on the hill,it affects you too.
The cause
Parents, the media, and our government are all to blame for the current raise in violence among teens. I am a PUBLIC school teacher at a local Hamilton High School. I have taught in both inner city and rural locations during my time here. From what I have seen a lack of parental supervison is mostly to blame. I understand that money is tight, but my suggestion would be to cut the Comcast Cable bill, stop buying video games for your children, and start cooking dinner and spend some time with your family. I am young, 28, and I come from a large family where my parents would have been considered "blue-collar" workers. I didn't have cable, video games, or expensive clothing, but I did grow up with values and a moral sense of right and wrong. I grew up knowing how to work. Kids today feel like they should get whatever they want whenever they want it. Until families become a family again we will continue to see a rise in violence in teens. Just look at McCallie, you don't have to be a PUBLIC school to see the problems in teen violence.
youth violence
Everyone wants to blame someone else for bad behavior; there is always a bevy of excuses. Our children learn from example! Children began to imitate us at very young ages, some of the lyrics these kids listen to are disgusting, they are the essence of evil itself. At 13 years of age, I knew better than to pull a gun and KILL another human being. Stop making excuses, you do know better, that is instinctive not taught.
Blame America.
Fix our borders and you will fix our problem. It wasn't this bad until WE let all of these illegals aliens flood our communities.
youth violence
Everything was a little easier 10-15 years ago, better 20-25 years ago.It just keeps getting harder and harder for everyone.I'm 32 yrs.old and a mother of 3.It takes everything i have, everything i am to raise my kids to be smart respectable kids who i hope will always make the right choices. But having a family means earning a living.Everything is so outragiously high today i can't seem to work enough to keep my bills paid and food on the table.I would love to have the perfect 8am-4pm job so i can be at home every evening and night with my family but all those are taken. If the cost of living wasn't so high, parents would have more time with their kids.I know it kills me.I look forward to a change in government at the end of the year, for my kids sake and everyone elses!
morrals

Morrals-huh
And quite apparent are a lack of english and spelling classes.
Youth Violence
First of all, if ya'll so called parents would pay attention to us we wouldn't turn to the gang if we had the right protection, guidance, and standards. What I mean by that is don't brush us of when we trying to talk to you. That goes for teachers, counselors, and ministers. Ya'll don't know what we go through when we enter these schools.Oh yeah standards, don't allow us to just leave because you tired of being around ya'll. I'm not saying lock us down, but know where we are going. Ask around before you let us go. And I must say RIP to Tyrone. He just wanted to have fun,but because he assocaited with bloods they took him out. Lord forgive them boys.
rash of violence
It all started with the removal of the bible from the schools and went downhill from there with the teachers being unable to disipline the students. Then parents are now unable to disipline their own children for fear of child services getting involved. Plus the great invention of the internet has been added to the mix. So it's not just one reason.
Youth Violence...i really
Youth Violence...i really cannot say its contributed by one entity. I think its a combination. which includes custodial parents that are not holding the kids accountable for their actions and whereabouts, absentee parents which push the kids to act out because no one cares and the gang culture that gives the kids a since of acceptence.
Current Rash of Violence
The blame needs to be put where it deserves to be put, The United States Government, It all got worse when the Government took our rights away as parents. The parents can not disapline the children without being threatened to be put in jail. Lets ask how many adults here had their butts whooped as a child. Now a days you spank your child and you go to jail.
media and some parents too lazy to set good examples
Child abuse and discipline are not the same thing, yet our "political leaders" and media have twisted it to be. Parents and teachers are not allowed to do half the things they were when I was in school. We had less violence. Things started changing when kids were educated that no one could make them do anything they did not want to do. Kids mistook this to mean anything, like homework, housework, etc. and they could call to report their parents for "being mean" to them. Teachers can't do anything to jr. for fear of carry over from parents and from being sued. Then spring break and gangster videos started on MTV. "Family shows" from 8-10 o'clock have curse words and commercials showing more adult shows. Our problem is a lax culture that is too lazy to set good examples and family morals. Instead everyone wants to call these simple parenting skills too old fashioned.
youth violence
Our teenagers have been raised on violent video games, TV shows and movies. By beholding we are changed. The first seven years are the most important in a child's life for character building. So many are raised by a TV because their parents are working or too busy to spend time with them. Kids need good adult role models all their lives! Parents need to be parents (not best friends) and show some tough love.
rash of violence ??
A rash ?? its been going on for yrs now, the thug mentality, bad boy & girl crap, rap, little white boy wannabees, tatoos everywhere, periceing every part of the body, I said this a long time ago and its proved soo true. the gang banger thug crap comes from "MTV" "VH1" and "nick"yes nick, just watch it sometime, they are brainwashing your kids to this at very young ages.
my business travels takes me to very rural areas of the country and look around in farm communities way away from the big cities, and you see these kids in the small 500 pop. towns, acting and dressing out like a thug and gang banger, its makes me laugh.
the parents don't watch mtv, so they have no idea whats going on,anyway I guess without cable & satellites the MTV bad boy thug, gang bangers crap wouldn't be in small town america, the days of small town "andy of mayberry" is all but a memory. what a shame our kids has to grow up with this. conclusion; parents try using the parental control device on the remote, you'll be hated for a week or so, but so what.
Portraying the Ten
Portraying the Ten Commandments as evil nowadays doesnt help.
TV shows, like The Nanny, where discipline is wrong, makes the parents feel bad, and we dont want to hurt the poor childs feelings.....
When a rebellious teenager can have a parent arrested on their word alone, not evidence, just out of spite, because they didnt get their way.
Content on TV doesnt seem to be getting more violent to me, thats always been there. Its the language and partial nudity. But you dont have to watch it, you can control your TV, lol.
Because there are no guidelines/discipline anymore, the children are out of control, with no guidelines to live by. You wanted them to 'live free, think free'.
I never knew there were so
I never knew there were so many idiot liberals here in Tn. The internet and tv causes violence huh? How is it violence was much higher before the internet existed and the worst violence around was Dirty Harry?
Hopefully Hilary can save us from the ebil internets, lol

Violence
The problem with youth violence is largely because we have LIBERAL minede professors and courts in this country that teach these little ingrates that it is ok to express yourself any way you want and if your teachers or parents step in to correct them they (the parents/teachers) will be put in jail for "Child Abuse". What a croc!!!!!!! I don't advocate violence toward the kids, but a good kick in the pants or slap up the side of their head is GOOD for them. It is NOT TV that creates violence, it is the courts in this ONCE great country that do nothing to these little self-centered obnoxious excuse making, snot nosed brats. YOU KNOW WHO I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!
