1 dead, 2 injured in overnight crash on Shallowford Road

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning, Chattanooga Police responded to a crash in the 6200 block of Shallowford Road.

Police say a Nissan Rouge driven by 45-year-old Dejuane Moore was traveling east around a curve and appeared to cross the double yellow line.

Police say a Chevy Avalanche driven by 55-year-old Michael Mayes was traveling west around the same curve.

According to police, Moore succumbed to his injuries on the scene while Mayes and his passenger were taken to a local hospital.

Chattanooga Police say Mayes and his passenger are listed in stable condition.

The Chattanooga Police Traffic Division is investigating.
