Meat thief apprehended by police on lunch break

While eating lunch, two Chattanooga Police officers witnessed Robert Lee Edwards, 46, getting into a disorder with store staff.
When police approached Edwards, he became defensive, but was ultimately detained without any incident.
Police searched Edwards and found 15 packages of steaks in the suspects pants, totaling $215 worth of product.
Witnesses report seeing Edwards taking meat, placing it in his clothing and attempting to leave the store without paying,
Edwards was arrested and transported to Hamilton Co. jail. Edwards is also being booked on warrants for prior theft.
