Blackburn Fork WMA opens up new hunting grounds in East Tennessee
Crossville, Tenn (WDEF) Tennessee hunters will have 400 new acres available to them for spring turkey season.
The TWRA announces that the new Blackburn Fork Wildlife Management Area can now be accessed for hunting.
The Putnam county track wraps around the Blackburn Fork State Scenic River in Putnam County (about halfway between Nashville and Knoxville).
There still are no signs at the WMA, but park boundaries have been marked with the yellow WMA paint.
This new WMA is located off of Blackburn Fork Road. The area is not listed in the current hunting guide, but those interested in hunting should follow statewide regulations.

Directions to Blackburn Fork WMA from Gainesboro: Take Highway 135 toward Cookeville. Cross the Blackburn Fork River bridge and immediately turn right onto Blackburn Fork Road. Go 2.7 miles and the parking area will be on your right. The area is open 30 minutes before dawn to sunset.
