Mayor Tim Kelly addresses improvements to Hixson area

HIXSON, Tenn. (WDEF) – Mayor Tim Kelly spoke at the Friends of Hixson Coffee Meeting at the Valleybrook Golf and Country Club about his administration’s plans and recent progress.
The meeting took place Wednesday, February 21.
Speaking to a full house, Mayor Kelly provided the attendees with an update on his administration’s priorities, and fielded questions from the public.
Topics included the proposed Chattanooga Lookouts Stadium, progress on providing more affordable housing options, infrastructure, public transit, and public health.
Talks also included the administration’s improved 311 Program, the fastest, most convenient way to report City of Chattanooga related issues.
“Well again, I was just here this morning to tell the Hixson community all the things we are doing in Hixson around the topic of response of effective government to build a better community,” Mayor Tim Kelly said. “My kind of operating principle is always about local government being as, or more, important that the state on a local level. Building new roads, creating new jobs, and we are well on our way to doing that. Including right here in Hixson.”
He also focused on increasing community support and participation in neighborhood associations and homeowner associations, all of which help provide a community where all Chattanoogans can thrive and prosper.
