17-year-old arrested for Chattanooga burglary, murder

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Last week, a teenager died after being shot during a burglary, according to Chattanooga Police. On Monday, the police department gave more details into what happened.

On Wednesday, July 26, police responded to a burglary just before 8:30 p.m. The incident happened at a home at 3920 Marigold Drive.

Chattanooga Police said they found a 15-year-old that had been shot several times inside the house.

First responders rushed the teen to the hospital, but he died from his injuries.

Now, police have arrested a 17-year-old who they say is responsible for the shooting.

Authorities charged the 17-year-old with first degree murder, aggravated burglary and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

They have not released any names of those involved, because they were under the age of 18.
