Mom to Mom – Pool Noodle Firecracker
Today on Mom to Mom, we are making a pool noodle firecracker! This 4th of July, if you are having a kid’s party, a pool party, or just cooking or grilling outside, we’ve got the perfect pool noodle firecracker that makes a great decoration for the tables, and it’s very inexpensive! You can get all your supplies at Dollar Tree and it’ll probably cost you about $6, $7.
What you’re going to need are some pool noodles. I grabbed about two. Then you’re going to need some tea lights. Then we’re going to need different kinds of tinsel and then maybe some fun stars and your hot glue gun and a box cutter so you can cut into that pool noodle. Let’s assemble our little firecracker pool noodle, shall we?
What you’re going to want to do is measure it out a little bit, however high you want it. For the biggest one, I probably go about a foot and then I cut that with my box cutter. Once I have that assembled, then I take my other pool noodle and I make it just maybe an inch or two a little bit shorter than the tallest one. Then you do that with the third one. You just want to stagger it a little bit. Then once you have that complete, then I go to the top of the pool noodle and I just cut out a little extra hole with my box cutter so I can put my tea lights in there. Then you can just rip the pool noodle out. It comes out perfectly for you to put that tea light in.
Once you’re done with that, then you can assemble these guys. What you want to do is take your pool noodle that you cut with the other one and hot glue that together, and you’ll just keep repeating that until you have all three together. Then you can start decorating. I put a little tinsel around the bottom. I hot glue some stars on, and then I took this star tinsel, cut it in half, and I just stuck it in between the pool noodles to make it look like a firecracker.
This is a fun little activity and your kids will love doing it as well. If you try this, we’d love to see those pictures. You can post them to our Mom to Mom Facebook page, and we’ll see you on the next Mom to Mom.
