Chattanooga Police arrest suspect in Amazon shooting

Chattanooga Police say they have arrested the man involved in the shooting of a 19-year-old at the Amazon Fulfillment Center.

The police department said they arrested 20-year-old Dante Jones on Wednesday.

Authorities are charging Jones with attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm during a felony.

Amazon’s Chattanooga location is temporarily closed.

CPD said when it reopens, Amazon will offer on-site grief counseling to employees.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police are investigating a pre-dawn shooting Wednesday morning at the Amazon Fulfillment Center.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. in front of the facility on Discovery Drive, just off Volkswagen Drive.

Investigators say it looked like a man approached a 19-year-old male and shot him at close range.

The suspect then fled on foot.

First responders took the victim to a hospital in critical condition.

Police believe this was a targeted shooting.

Chattanooga Police responded to a person shot call at 4:33 a.m. this morning at 7200 Discovery Drive.
