ATLANTA, Georgia (WDEF) – Federal prosecutors have charged two suspects in a major meth bust.

One is an illegal alien from Mexico who has already served time in prison.

Officers staked out a cold storage warehouse in Fulton County two weeks ago.

Prosecutors say they followed storage trucks and found 924 pounds of meth hidden in pallets of blackberries on one truck.

The hit the other truck at a gas station where a k9 alerted on it.

They say they found 661 pounds of meth hidden in blackberry pallets in that truck.

One of the suspects is Gerardo Solorio-Alvarado from Mexico.

He has already served 17 years in federal prison for drug distribution and was out on probation at the time.

“These repeat offenders, including an illegal alien, allegedly attempted to conceal and traffic an enormous quantity of deadly methamphetamine in our community,” said U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg.
