Apartment Damaged in Kitchen Fire

RED BANK, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Red Bank family is homeless Saturday night, after their apartment caught fire.

It happened at 6:45 p.m. at a duplex on Lullwater Road.

Red Bank firefighters worked to put out the blaze, which started in the kitchen.

The duplex owner told fire officials he used the stove to light his cigarette, and forgot to turn it off before walking outside.

No one was hurt.

The fire caused less than $10,000 in damage.

The American Red Cross is helping the displaced family.
