CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A man fell into the Tennessee River Sunday night in the Northshore area, according to Chattanooga Police.

He fell off the dock into the water, where he did not resurface.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene on 418 Manufacturers Road around 9:20 p.m.

After a search and recovery effort, the man was found dead in the water. First responders found him just after 1 a.m. Monday morning.

The victim was just 21 years old.

The incident appears to be an accidental drowning, but Chattanooga police will continue to investigate.
