Police Issue Georgia Power Scam Warning

CHATSWORTH, Ga. (WDEF) — Chatsworth police want to warn residents about a new scam.

Police say they’ve received calls from several local businesses about it.

The scammer says they’re with Georgia Power, claims the resident’s power bill is past due, and that payment must be made immediately.

In recent incidents, police say the reported offender called from 866-978-7560.

Police say to never give out your bank account information over the phone.

If you get a call from that number, call law enforcement.
