2nd child in Bradley County pool incident dies

BRADLEY COUNTY, Tennessee (WDEF) – The second child found unresponsive in a pool last week in Bradley County has died.

7 year old Bella Marie Lombardi and her brother, 10 year old Mikey, were both found in the pool on Georgetown Road last Thursday evening.

Both were described as unresponsive when they were rushed to the hospital.

Mikey was prounounced dead the next day.

Sheriff Eric Watson issues this statement today on the death of Bella.

“I send my deepest condolences to the family of the two deceased juveniles and Hopewell Elementary School’s faculty and students. The passing of “Bella” only intensifies what this community has been going through since “Mikey” first passed a few days ago. The loss of two children is devastating, and I will continue to pray for the family who have been affected by this tragedy. Please remember to keep their School Resource Officer, Deputy Mitchell Roe, in your prayers as this has greatly impacted him as well.”
