3 large gators captured, killed at south Georgia state park
ADEL, Ga. (AP) – Alligators have prompted a state park in south Georgia to capture and kill three large alligators and close a beach and swimming area for a time.
Georgia State Parks spokeswoman Kim Hatcher says a professional trapper was called in to remove the alligators from Reed Bingham State Park.
The Valdosta Daily Times reports that all three of the gators were 6 feet long or larger, and all were euthanized.
The park is about 30 miles from Valdosta.
